Pay Day

You say it's Friday once again.
Now all the money will roll right in.
Seems before it's earned it is spent.
By Monday we won't have a cent.

The light bill is due, the payment on the car-
The money we have left won't go far.
There are groceries to buy so we can eat.
Oh yeah, the kids need shoes on their feet.

All our money by now is gone.
They've disconnected our telephone.
The bank is threatning to forclose.
What we're to do, God only knows.

By tommorrow we will sleep on the floor.
Cleaning house won't be much of a problem anymore.
Now we have no furniture, lights, or phone-
At least next week the money won't all be gone.
